Can you believe it's nearly September. I am blown away by how fast this year has gone!
Artfolk has grown once again and will now be facilitating watercolour and ceramic workshops at the stunning Entangle Living Art space in Dayboro. Think greenery for days, warehouse/factory architecture and loads of arty and crafty inspiration. It was love at first sight and I am so blessed they have included Artfolk on their workshops list. I am running floral and greenery watercolour workshops, and clay handbuilt planters workshop, all with a beverage and nibble included. If you want to make a day out of it I highly recommend their new cafe.

I am also excited to announce that I will have paintings and ceramics on display for their 'Floribunda' exhibition that opens this week. The above painting is a rare serious attempt at painting for an exhibition. Like most people, I put a lot of pressure on myself, with perfectionism and self doubt getting in the way. Usually I don't like to 'much up' pristine white canvases so I can't bare to start. Well, I think I have gotten over that. This work was inspired by a styled photo I took at home of a tablecloth, workshop botanics and my porcelain pears. I am already into my next painting and am relishing using so much colour. If you know my ceramics... white on white, raw earth colours, limited colour... then this will also be a shock to you. But I have bridged the difference with the following collection of watercolour flowers also on show and available for purchase...
If you are keen for a lovely drive and are obsessed with flowers like I am then I can highly recommend a visit to the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers Last year I took my mother for a fun ladies weekend and the gardens and blooms were mind-blowing! I managed to take over 100 photos of flowers so you won't be disappointed with the creativity and diversity of their floral art. The wine tasting and food tents were pretty good too!
Lots more Spring adventures are on the way. I am off to the Barossa for some wining, dining and researching... an Artfolk winery and watercolour retreat is on the agenda for 2019 so I have the hard job of trying everything first!
