Can you believe it is Spring in a few days time? I have had a crazy year and it seems to have flown by. No doubt because I have had so many changes, opportunities and goals come to fruition. I cannot wait to see what the next four months have in store.
Time also passes so fast when there are so many great things going on to break from the work load. Here's a few things coming up...
This Thursday there is the New Wave Group Exhibition at Analogue Gallery in the Valley from 6.30pm. The gallery has only opened this year and I haven't had the chance to visit yet. This seems a good opportunity to head out and support local emerging artists and the start-up Brisbane art scene.
On Saturday, the 'Ignition' Suncoast Clayworkers Exhibition on the Sunshine Coast will have their opening, which includes my pictured artwork 'Blight'. If you are in the area you might also like to trail along to the Arty Farty Garden Party at the Kenilworth Garden Club. Lots of food, plants, art and botanical art.
If you happen to be in Sydney this weekend then the New Clay Makers Market will be held at the Australia Design Centre. Lots of makers, lots of ceramics, lots of creative energy and lots for sale. If I was down there my wallet would definitely be under threat. On September 7th, take a look at The New Market: Productive Maker Models (also hosted by the Australian Design Centre) where two talented Australian ceramicists will be discussing their creative practice.
More clay goodness can be found in Sydney at the Inner City Clayworkers 2016 Teapot Show in Glebe. I have three teapots in the show, which concludes in a weeks time.
Lots of clay this week, but that should be no surprise to me really. Oh clay!
